OFFICIAL RULES
SWEEPSTAKES OVERVIEW
These Official Rules state all of the terms of the “HALF THE SKY MOVEMENT” FAN SWEEPSTAKES (the “Sweepstakes”). Please carefully read all of these Rules before you decide to participate in the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is sponsored by Show of Force LLC (the “Sponsor”). You may write to the Sponsor at 430 East 10th Street, # 3A, New York, NY 10009. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The purchase of merchandise will not improve the chance of winning. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
WHO MAY ENTER
The Sweepstakes is open only to an individual lawfully residing in the continental United States (residents of Alaska and Hawaii are ineligible) who (1) is 18 years of age or older; (2) possesses Internet access; (3) is not employed by and does not work directly for the Sponsor (or any affiliated entity), and also is not a member of the immediate family of any person employed by or working directly for the Sponsor (or any affiliated entity); and (4) is the registered subscriber of the e-mail account used to submit an entry in accordance with the “HOW TO ENTER” Rule below and to participate in the Sweepstakes, or is an immediate family member of the registered subscriber of such account, who knows of and consents to such use of the account to participate in the Sweepstakes.
HOW TO ENTER
All entries are submitted online. To enter the Sweepstakes, you must be a registered member of www.getglue.com (the “GetGlue Site”). To become such a member, visit the GetGlue Site; review the GetGlue Privacy Policy; register for free; and download the free smart phone application. Once registered, you may enter the Sweepstakes by “checking-in” on the GetGlue Site to "Independant Lens" or “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide" to get the preview sticker. Your submission of an entry constitutes your legal representation that you are eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes, and that you have read and agree to be bound by these Rules. Only one entry may be submitted by an entrant and from one email address.
PRIZE
The Sweepstakes has one Grand Prize, consisting of a trip for the Winner and a guest to attend the Global Citizen Festival Concert (the “Concert”) on September 29, 2012 in New York City. The Grand Prize includes two VIP admission tickets to the Concert; round-trip coach air transportation for the Winner and guest from the major U.S. airport nearest Winner’s primary residence to New York City; and one night hotel accommodations (one standard room, double occupancy), in a hotel in the New York City area. If Winner resides within 150 miles of New York City, ground and not air transportation will be provided. In the exercise of its sole discretion, Sponsor will determine the applicable airport, airline, ground transportation carrier, and hotel. Winner and guest will travel to New York City on September 29 and return on September 30. The airline tickets and hotel reservation are non-transferable. Winner is solely responsible for all other expenses not specified herein, including but not limited to ground transportation to and from airports, meals, beverages, tips, taxi fare, taxes and hotel incidentals. Winner may be required to present a valid credit card at hotel check-in. The approximate retail value (ARV) of the Grand Prize depends on the Winner’s residence, but is anticipated to be between $1,500.00 and $2,500.00. Winner will not receive cash or any other form of compensation if actual travel costs are less than the anticipated ARV. Winner is solely responsible for any and all federal, state, and local taxes associated with winning the Grand Prize.
TIME PERIOD AND SELECTION OF WINNER
The Sweepstakes begins at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 19, 2012 and ends at 4:00 p.m. on September 24, 2012. Promptly thereafter, and using information retrieved from the GetGlue Site, Sponsor will randomly select the Grand Prize Winner from all timely received entries and notify the Winner by email. The selection of the Winner, and all other decisions and determinations by the Sponsor made in connection with the Sweepstakes, are final and not subject to challenge in any administrative, arbitral, quasi-judicial, or judicial proceeding.
REQUIREMENTS OF WINNER
Within eighteen hours of being informed that she is the Grand Prize Winner, the Winner must provide Sponsor with her snail mail and email addresses and all other information necessary for the ticketing and booking of airline and hotel reservations. The necessary travel information and reservations will thereafter be emailed to Winner by Sponsor and/or the transportation and hotel providers. The Winner must prove eligibility to the Sponsor’s satisfaction, sign an affidavit of eligibility and full liability release, grant written permission to have her name, likeness and identity used for promotional purposes by Sponsor without additional compensation, and provide Sponsor with a digital photograph of herself in .jpg format. The digital photo must be satisfactory to Sponsor, which will provide Winner with the email address of the person to whom Winner’s digital photograph should be submitted. The failure of a potential winner promptly to prove eligibility, sign the required affidavit and grant of permission, and submit a satisfactory digital photo to Sponsor, or Sponsor’s inability to contact the potential winner, will result in immediate disqualification and selection of an alternative winner.
TRAVEL AND LODGING REQUIREMENTS AND RESTRICTIONS
The winner’s guest must be eighteen (18) years of age or older, except that the guest may be a minor if the Winner is the guest’s parent or legal guardian. Winner and guest must travel together on the same itinerary and possess all required travel documents. Winner’s guest may also be required to execute applicable documents prior to ticketing of the travel prize. Air transportation tickets are non-refundable/non-transferable and are not valid for upgrades and/or frequent flyer miles. All air transportation tickets are subject to the vagaries of flight variation, work stoppages and schedule or route changes.
POSSIBLE CONCERT CANCELLATION OR RESCHEDULING
The Concert is subject to, and Sponsor is not responsible for, changes to production schedule, production exigencies or delays, postponements or cancellation. If the Concert does not or cannot take place as scheduled or at all, for reasons including but not limited to scheduling conflicts, cancellations, postponement, location changes, an event of force majeure, or for any other reason, the Grand Prize will not include two VIP admission tickets to the Concert, but Winner will receive all other components of the Grand Prize.
SPONSOR NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ERRORS
Sponsor is not responsible or liable in any way for the consequences of incorrect, inaccurate, interrupted, defective, or untimely transmission or transcription of entry information, or for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost data, transmission line failure, wireless service gaps, power outages and spikes, computer hardware and software errors and malfunctions, computer viruses and glitches, Internet or wireless service inaccessibility, or any other technical, electronic, transmission, computer error or malfunction, or similar error or malfunction.
MISCELLANEOUS
This Sweepstakes is governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding conflict of laws principles. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Sponsor is not responsible or liable for claims, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from the acceptance, use, misuse, possession, or loss of possession of any component of the Prize. If Winner is male, references to “she” and “her” as used herein shall be deemed to be references to “he” and “him.”
